Pray
“I will draw her into the desert and speak to her heart.” Hosea 2:14
Each person is chosen by God, and as such, is invited into a deep relationship with Him. Prayer is the response to this invitation. As one who is consecrated, a Sister’s primary and essential vocation is intimate union with Christ through prayer. Her day is marked by periods of personal, communal, and liturgical prayer, but more than this, a Sister strives to live a permanent and continuing state of contemplation.
Our Prayer Life
The Eucharist – in which Jesus is wholly and substantially present – is the center of our lives. The chapel is the heart of every local convent. Each day we receive Him through participation in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and in adoration before the Blessed Sacrament. Whenever possible, we pray for an extended period after receiving Holy Communion. To honor and to keep our hearts fixed on Jesus throughout the day, we make frequent visits to Him, our Eucharistic King, truly present in the tabernacle.
Each day we come together as a community to pray the Liturgy of the Hours, uniting our prayers to those of the entire Body of Christ and bringing the needs of the world before our Heavenly Father. Additionally, each Sister spends time with Jesus in daily meditation, Scripture and other spiritual reading, and in the Examen prayer. Our love for Mary, our Queen and Mother, is nurtured through the daily recitation of the Holy Rosary. Desiring to console Jesus in His Passion and death on the Cross, we pray the Stations of the Cross each day.
Each year a Sister makes an eight-day silent retreat in order to hear and respond to the voice of her Divine Spouse more deeply. On one day each month, the graces of the annual retreat are revisited and renewed in silent retreat. In addition, a Sister has the opportunity to make a 30-day silent Ignatian retreat at some point in her religious life, typically before making her perpetual profession.
Our prayer nourishes our bond with the God who loves and has called us to belong entirely to Him. Through prayer and our continual “yes” to His reign in our lives, we are formed more and more into the likeness of Jesus, our Divine Spouse.

"He wants to be with me, in me,
because He loves me."
